Off The Wall Dive Center & Resort is located on Long Caye on Glover’s Reef Atoll in Belize, the Caribbean coast. The size of the resort is around 1,5 acres (6 070m2) acre while the size of the island Long Caye (there are a few islands with this name in Belize) is 13 acres (52 609m2). The island’s maximum length/width is about 550mX145m. The island is located about 51 km southeast of Dangriga town. It is one of the easternmost islands in Belize, which lies directly at the Belize Barrier Reef. It is an isolated island, with peace and tranquility that this region can offer.
Being on the Barrier Reef makes its water and reef exceptional quality with a lot of corals, fish, and other marine life. There are also many bird species on the island, including lizards, and turtles. Off The Wall Dive Center & Resort is renowned for offering great diving and water-based experiences around. Glover’s Reef Atoll is an atoll located around 45 km from the mainland of Belize. It is a partially submerged atoll and forms part of the outermost boundary of the Belize Barrier Reef, and is one of its three atolls, besides Lighthouse Reef Atoll and Turneffe Atoll. Glovers Reef is oval and has five islands/cayes (from north to south, Northeast Caye, Long Caye, Middle Caye, and Southwest Caye). There is Glover’s Reef Research Station, which is owned by the Wildlife Conservation Society.
The atoll itself is protected under conservation. The Glover’s Reef Marine Reserve was established as a national protected area in 1993 under the Fisheries Act and the reserve counts the marine area of the atoll. It is considered one of the highest-priority areas in the Mesoamerican reef system. It was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1996 (alongside several other sites that form the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System).
