Our Tunisia 2025 vacation

Sonja and I went to Tunisia, from June 30 to July 6, for a week’s vacation. It is not exactly tropical, nor is it an island, but it is still subtropical, south-Mediterranean, sub-Saharan with exotic elements and animals. We were in Yasmine Hammamet, at Le Royale Hotel. We had a direct flight from Niš to Monastir, and from there it took about an hour and a half by bus to the hotel. The hotel is all inclusive, we have breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus endless drinks, pools, beach…

The hotel is a large complex, there are many rooms, everything is clean and tidy, the rooms are solidly furnished, they are cleaned every day, they have a terrace with various views depending on the location of the room. We even had access to a huge terrace with good views. There are several bars and restaurants within the complex where food and drinks are served. The food is good, Mediterranean plus local, it is varied, and even cocktails can be taken for free. There is also a luxurious Capri restaurant, where Italian food is offered.

There are many gardens, both indoor and outdoor, which are regularly arranged and maintained, many roads, Mediterranean vegetation and, of course, palm trees of several species. There are jasmine and hibiscus maltenes throughout the hotel. We once witnessed a Saharan storm around 5 AM when it was like Frankenstein scene with thunders and lightning, and the palm trees were shaking. We don’t have that scene with palm trees at home in the Balkans.

The beach is phenomenal, I often admired the color of the water there. Identical to tropical with white sand, transparent and bright blue and slushy water. The water is warm, shallow about 50 meters up to the stomach or chest, so it is great for children. And there are no threats, only sometimes there are jellyfish that are bright blue in color and can be easily spotted in transparent water.

There are also camels on the beach for added effect! White sand, palm trees, greenish water and a camel, just an extra scene! There are plenty of activities there from skydiving and banana rides on jet skis, to pirate ship rides, beach volleyball and more. The hotel also has a lot of activities from yoga, table tennis to archery. The hotel also offers massages for an additional fee.

We also have several swimming pools within the hotel. One nice swimming pool with a bar that has a dome is just for a good atmosphere, it is located right in the center of the complex. It has a good design. There is also a small pool for children next to it. Another pool is located facing the beach, there is also an indoor indoor pool, and an experimental one, a bonus in the part of the complex that is still being built facing the beach. I’ve been everywhere once except for the indoor pool.

There is a lot to see in the place itself, there are a couple of shopping malls, there is the famous Medina, their bazaar which is also well equipped with goods, restaurants and entertainment, there are a lot of people there. There is also an amusement park with lots of activities and a mini zoo. There is also a King Kong ride, Fish Spa massage and more. Near our hotel is their marina with boats, restaurants and activities. The marina is also a very popular place.

As for the exotic, in addition to palm trees, dates and subtropical vegetation, we also took pictures with some exotic animals. The main animal there is a camel, and I rode it on the beach. There is also a chameleon, a very good lizard. In the Medina, we also took pictures with a large tropical parrot.

This is us on the plane, and here you can see my Facebook album with over 300 pictures because I can’t upload so many here https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=davor.todorovic.545&set=a.25105086835747470
