Quiros Island (or isla Quiros) is an island in Pearl Islands, Panama, the Pacific side. Its size is 3,5 acres (1,4 ha) and its maximum width/length are around 240mX155m, and measures are even longer on low tide. The island is nestled almost in the center of famous Pearl Islands archipelago, being surrounded by small and largers islands directly. Isla Quiros is just 1,1,km away from large Isla del Rey, and is less than 83kms southeast of Panama City’s shores.
Quiros Island is volcanic island with many rocks around itself and relatively rich volcanic soil that many plants and trees can grow there. There are actually lime, mango, orange, and avocado and native trees on the island, and of course coconut trees for tropical vibe. The whole island is covered in vegetation and is mostly flat with dark volcanic rocks around protecting the island.
The interesting thing is that Isla Quiros features one long beach on low tide. On northeastern part, there is a small beach combined with rocks, but on low tide the beach is about 50m wide, and can be long up to 120m as that is technically a sandbar connected to the island. Perhaps filling that part with sand will solve the issue of disappearing beach. The famous beauty of Pearl Islands with flora and fauna directly reflects to Quiros Island as well except it is smaller size.
