Tom Owens Islands or Tom Owens Cayes in Belize are tiny islets in the southernmost part of Belize Barrier Reef. They are located about 34,5kms southeast of Placencia’s shore, and are in the region that are famous Sapodilla Cayes located. The two islands have the same name with one being west, and the second being east (Tom Owen’s Island/Caye West and Tom Owen’s Island/Caye East). The distance between two sets is less than 270m, just 5 minutes of boat ride.
West Town Owen island’s maximum length/width is about 80mX35m (if we count jetty for boats and concrete addon protection then the width stretches up to 70m), and is developed. It features a spacious house and a few smaller buildings that blend with many coconut palms and a few other trees and plants as well. The island has its own artificially created harbor to the northwest side that creates its own calm saltwater pool. It looks really nice and balanced, small size but has everything needed!
East Town Owner Island is a bit more interesting and unique in whole country. It is smaller and poorer in vegetation than west caye, but has its own advantage as well. Its maximum length/width is about 50mX20m (36m if we count jetty) and has just a few coconut palms on it. But this island features very unique houses resembling large sea shells! Larger house has two floors providing amazing views of the Caribbean Sea in the barrier reef. The smaller building has its own small sea pool.
Both cays have white sandy beaches and are surrounded by protective coral reefs for calmer and very high-quality waters full of fish, corals, and other marine life. They are natural and perfect spots for many water-based activities. There are many images and positive reviews around (especially on Trip Advisor where many pictures are, and I took some of them here) with the most praising those shell-looking houses.
Those islands are for sale as of recently, I provided links here https://tropicalislands.net/tom-owens-islands-for-sale/ but we write just from educational and commentary views, we are not involved directly in the sale of islands so we cannot guarantee any information regarding that.
