Rare Tornado hit Haiti

Rare Tornado today hit the northern part of Haiti, injuring at least 50 people (10 of them are seriously injured) and destroying over 200 homes. According to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, over 300 families are left homeless because of this disaster. Haiti’s civil protection agency and the Red Cross were the first responders to aid and evaluate the damage caused by this rare tornado. And additionally to that, heavy rain is expected in much of Haiti, including the area affected by the tornado, with warnings of possible flooding and landslides.
